Colorful Clockwork

I've seen something similar done (in crochet) on another blog, but I can't remember which one.. Perhaps you can tell me? Anyway, it's a quick way to brighten up a dull wall clock in no time:
Here's the 'before picture':
Easy peasy: I cast on 16 stitches and knitted in garter stitch for as long as necessary. Then sewed the two short ends together, forming a loop to thread on the clock frame. I crocheted around the inner edge and pulled a thread into the back edge to fasten. See my Ravely notes for more details!
And best of all: No threads needed fastening, I just tucked them underneath the edge..
I've created a pattern page for this on Ravelry, so please add your own clock cozy!

  10. This is so nice ! Very beautiful ... :-) I am planning to make one for my home; can you explain a little more how to attach the strip to the clock ? Thank you very much.

  11. Thanks! I fastened it on the back (after sewing the two short sides of the knitted strip together, so it forms a loop), just threading a piece of yarn into it (all around the loop) and tightening like a drawstring.

  19. I tried this in crochet (my only pair of knitting needles were full) and it was pretty easy as well. I took my 3-ply yarn and my size hook F/5 and all I did was chain 16 and double crochet every row. I just started but it seems to be the same width as the cast-on of 16, so I'm doing it in crochet. Hope this helped somebody :)
